All About CBD
CBD, also known as cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring cannabinoid of cannabis. Unlike THC, CBD does not have a psychoactive property, this means CBD affects the body more than the brain. In 2003, the United States was granted a patent on any and all applications of cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants. CBD has several benefits as well as ways to ingest. CBD can relieve pain, reduce anxiety and depression, alleviate cancer-related symptoms, may reduce acne and may benefit heart health.
There are many different types and brands of smokeable CBD. Generally called flower, a blend of herbs is mixed with CBD isolate and sold rolled or in “nugs”. This is a great alternative to smoking actual marijuana if you are either drug tested or do not like THC but still favor smoking.
CBD can also be mixed into or added to e-juices. This is a great option for people who vape to get their dose of CBD throughout the day. Some e-juices are sold with CBD infused and other juices are more concentrated CBD. CBD e-juices are made for all size devices so anyone can enjoy them.
CBD concentrates are the strongest type of CBD that can be purchased. These concentrates most closely resemble dabs. They are generally sold as isolate crystals, crumble wax, and shatter wax. These are for people who like smoking and high doses of CBD. Given the strength of CBD concentrates, they may not be for everyone. However, if you are looking for a higher dose of CBD, look for concentrates.
If you’re not a fan of smoking do not worry, there are many edible ways to ingest CBD to get all the benefits. There are lots of different candies such as lollipops, gummies, brownies, and chocolate bars. Not hungry for a snack? CBD is also sold in pre-packed capsules, often with a blend of other herbs, for a ,quicker, more concentrated dose.
CBD topicals are lotions, pain rubs, and oils than can be used on the affected area. Some popular CBD topicals include a pain freeze which cools the area with pain and applies CBD directly to the area. There is also coconut oil which can also be rubbed on areas with inflammation, dry skin areas, hair and much more. Topical CBD absorbs into the skin which gives some slightly different benefits than ingestion.
